A multi-vendor grocery marketplace where neighborhood stores sell online under their own catalogs. Customers shop across vendors in a single order; vendors manage listings, inventory, and fulfilment from a dedicated dashboard.
case_study — urbanmart
The client wanted to bring independent grocery stores online without forcing each one to build its own shop. The platform needed per-vendor catalogs, consolidated checkout, delivery time slots, and a commission model for the operator.
Multi-vendor grocery has unforgiving logistics: stock that changes daily, perishable items, and delivery windows that must stay realistic. The checkout had to combine products from several vendors into one order while keeping fulfilment and settlements cleanly separated per store.
We built the platform on Next.js and PostgreSQL with a vendor dashboard for listings and stock, a slot-based checkout that groups items per vendor for picking, and an admin panel handling commissions, payouts, and disputes. Inventory changes propagate to the storefront quickly, so customers rarely hit an out-of-stock surprise at the last step.
